The 5 Piece French Wardrobe experiment continues, and this time it’s the summer edition. Summer has never really been my favourite season to shop for, since outside of bikinis (that I could literally own an entire wardrobe of), I don’t tend to love summer clothes. Bum baring shorts and crop tops just aren’t my jam. But this year I’ve curiously found myself loving building my summer wardrobe. From lacy dresses to straw and off the shoulder everything, here are the five things I’m adding to my summer wardrobe.
5 THINGS TO GET FOR YOUR SUMMER WARDROBE
Florals come back every summer, and as a monochrome lover I’ve found them a tricky pattern to love. But this year I think I’ve finally got the floral thing down. The secret is making sure the pattern only comes in one hue, to keep it from looking too busy. Also, this top is basically summer embodied.
A White Lace Dress
I’ve been hunting high and low for a white lace dress, after this Gina Tricot number was sold out right under my nose. White crochet lace dresses with t-shirt sleeves seem to be a massive trend this summer, which has basically lead to them being sold out everywhere. If you know where I can find a dress like this, please tell me.
A Bardot Top
Off the shoulder tops have been on trend ever since last summer, but I somehow never quite warmed up to the trend. Until this summer. Now I find myself eyeing off the shoulder everything, from tops to dresses and playsuits. You need to have at least one classic bardot top in your wardrobe this summer.
A Straw Hat
For me hats are a summer essential I just couldn’t live without. Whether it’s a classic fedora, a cute little boater or a floppy beach hat (preferably with a text like “Vacation Mode On”), you just need one in your life.
A Raffia Bag
I never thought this would be a trend I would love, but I just fell in love with this Prada bag. Since Prada isn’t quite in my budget, I’ve been looking for a more affordable option. And this Zara tote fits the bill perfectly. It even has adorable black pom poms rimming the sides.
