My Summer Capsule Wardrobe

My Summer Capsule Wardrobe | Shakespeare & Sparkle

Hello summer! Today is officially the first day of summer, which means it’s time to take a look at my summer capsule wardrobe (although to be honest, I’ve been wearing some of these things since last month). This time I had a bit of a bigger rejig than for my spring capsule, and actually went through all the clothes I had in storage from since we moved. Surprisingly I found that I really hadn’t missed most of the stuff that I had packed away, and ended up getting rid of another two bags of clothes (yay for less stuff!).

So here’s what I learned from my spring capsule wardrobe:
  • If you’re thinking about it, just get rid of it. You likely won’t miss it.
  • Sometimes weather may surprise you and you might end up needing shorts in May
  • Capsule wardrobes are a brilliant way to hone in on your style and what you actually like.

My summer capsule wardrobe is also the one so far that I made the most additions to. I ended up completely redoing my pants wardrobe since a bunch of my jeans were too ripped to be worn, went a little crazy for bikinis (again, this happens every year) and finally got the perfect striped dress that I’ve been stalking since last year. The only thing still left on my shopping list is a pair of lace up flats, and maybe one more bikini…

Are you doing a summer capsule wardrobe?

I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe but as soon as I throw something away I find I need it. Maybe it’s psychological and I’m making excuses for myself haha.

I used to have the same problem. You should try packing things in storage instead of trying to get rid of them straightaway, I bet you wouldn’t even miss them! xx

i recently got myself some new summer clothes and i mainly went for simple pieces as they work great together and its mostly monochrome as i prefer dressing in black.

Monochrome is perfect for capsule wardrobes since everything goes together. xx
