July Beauty Favourites

It’s the end of July and most of summer is already behind, but hopefully we still have a month of summery heat left. This month I tried a fair share of both makeup and skincare bits, and even did some beauty haulin’. (Check out my Charlotte Tilbury haul & a little Herbivore Botanicals haul). So it was tough narrowing down my July beauty favourites, but I thought I’d share some of the bits that weren’t featured in the hauls. From face mists to concealers and a dreamy golden eyeshadow, here are my July beauty favourites:

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer | Light Warm

I finally got myself the Naked concealer after hearing so many great things. And I couldn’t be happier with it. It feels lightweight and blends like a dream, and has a decent amount of coverage too. The shade Light Warm is a perfect match for my skin, and it works both for brightening under the eyes and covering up blemishes.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir

Whenever I see an article about French beauty secrets, one of the products mentioned is always the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. So I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. It’s a face spritz made with grape, orange blossom, rose, organic balm mint and rosemary, and it’s meant to give your skin a burst of radiance. I love spritzing this on after powdering to bring back the glow to my skin, and I’ve been known to bust it out for a little afternoon pick me up too. The only downside is that I really cannot stand the scent. I’m guessing it’s the rosemary, but it just smells like pine to me.

Mádara Micellar Water

I love micellar waters, and think they’re pretty much a lazy girl’s best friend when it comes to removing makeup. But since I’ve recently tried to change my skincare routine to more natural products, I was on the look out for a natural cosmetics micellar water. And the Mádara micellar water is even more effective at removing makeup than it’s less natural counterparts. The ingredients include aloe vera, peony and hyaluronic acid, making it also really hydrating. Now obviously it’s a bit more pricey than the drugstore options, but I promise you it’s worth every penny.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz | Taupe

I haven’t strayed from my Anastasia Dip Brow pomade ever since I got it over a year ago. But since having to carry an eyebrow brush with you is not always the handiest option, I also wanted to try the original brow wiz. And to be honest, it’s completely over taken the pomade in my brow routine. The pen has a really fine nib that makes it easy to create natural looking brows, and the shade taupe is the perfect match for me. Plus, the little brush on the end has made me wonder how I ever did my brows without a spoolie in the first place.

By Terry Ombre Blackstar Melting Eyeshadow | Blond Opal

I’m a big lover of easy one swipe eyeshadows, so the By Terry Ombre Blackstars had been on my lust list for ages. The gold packaging, the gorgeous shades and beautiful formula were all things that I just couldn’t say no to. They are so creamy, blend beautifully and stay put on the lids for hours (although I always use a primer). The colour Blond Opal is a cooler toned gold that comes out as rather sheer, but it can be built up to a more opaque glowy gold. It’ the perfect easy everyday shadow.

Such a great review of these products! I have been wanting to try the Caudalie Beauty Elixir. It sounds so amazing! I am wondering if I would like the scent? I currently use MAC’s Fix as a similar product but I do want to try something new. I might switch it up and give this a try. 🙂

Thanks Brooke! It’s certainly an amazing product for adding glow to your skin. And scent is such a personal thing that just because I didn’t like it, doesn’t meant you wont. xx
