So August has come and gone. This month has been quite the exciting one, as we got to enjoy the last days of summer, while also getting excited for autumn to come. For me August included a weekend at the cottage, my very first wedding shoot and plenty of autumn shopping. That said, I didn’t actually try that many new things this month, but mostly stuck to my trusted beauty bits. So my August beauty favourites is looking a bit less beefy than usual, but there’s still a few makeup bits that made it to my love list this month.
AUGUST BEAUTY FAVOURITES
Last month we finally got Sleek in Finland, and although I was really lusting after their blushes, I had to settle for this eyeshadow palette instead. But it’s actually quickly become my daily go-to for an easy neutral eye. It has six matte shades and six shimmers, ranging from a light beige to a deep brown. My favourites have been the two lightest mattes called Feelin’ Good and Be Happy.
The shadows have a great quality for the price and the packaging is also quite sleek and sturdy. The only downside is that the shade names aren’t actually on the packaging, but printed on a flimsy piece of plastic that comes inside.
I feel like I probably could’ve mentioned this blush already last month, but I didn’t truly fall in love with it until this month. So it had to be in my August beauty favourites. It’s not overly pigmented, looks really natural and lasts all day long. And the shade is a beautiful glowy pink that I’ve been wearing on my cheeks non-stop.
Savon de Marseille | Coco
The amazingness of marseille soap is well known in the beauty world. So when I spotted these soaps at the international market I just had to buy one. They’re a 100 % natural French beauty secret made from vegetable oils, and can be used for pretty much everything. I however, use mine to wash my makeup brushes. It leaves my brushes super soft and smelling subtly of coconut. Plus, it just doesn’t seem to melt at all no matter how much I use it.
MAC | Faux
I’ve had this lipstick on my wish list probably since last fall. But thanks to a huge Finnish blogger mentioning it, it’s been constantly sold out. Until the last time I popped into my MAC counter and actually got lucky. It’s a gorgeous mauve nude that’s fast become one of my perfect my lips but better shades. The satin finish also makes it comfy enough to wear every single day.
