I’m definitely a lipstick kind of girl, and not a day goes by without me having at least something on my lips. So naturally lipsticks were some of the first beauty bits that I really started investing in. There’s just something so lovely about a luxe lipstick, and yet it’s something that even someone with a smaller budget can afford. (Like I may not be able to afford a Chanel bag, but I can just about afford a Chanel lipstick). A little treat to make the everyday more special. So today I’m sharing my six favourite luxe lipsticks worth the splurge.
LUXE LIPSTICKS WORTH THE SPLURGE
MAC Lipstick | Mehr
I know not everyone would consider MAC lipsticks a splurge, but for a student anything over 20 euros is definitely an investment. In fact, MAC lipsticks were the first lipsticks that I ever splurged on. And even though I’ve since moved on to even more beautiful things (ah, Chanel), my MAC lippies are still among my favourites. (You can check my entire collection here). With so many shades and brilliant formulas to choose from, they’re definitely lipsticks worth the investment. My current favourite shade is Mehr, a mauve pink nude.
Clarins Joli Rouge Lipstick | Rose Praline
Okay, so can you tell I have a thing for gold packaging? The Clarins Joli Rouges have some of the softest and creamiest lipstick formulas I’ve ever tried. With that and the delicious blackberry licorice scent, they had to be included in my lipsticks worth the splurge. I have the shade Rose Praline, a lovely rosy nude that’s one of those perfect my lips but better shades.
Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick | Bitch Perfect
I had been dreaming about the rose gold goodness of the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks for quite some time. But since I have to order them online and can’t swatch them (boo!) it took me a while to make the splurge. But now that I’m a happy owner of one, there’ll surely be more. I have yet to try the Matte Revolution, but the K.I.S.S.I.N.G lippies are so creamy and comfy on the lips, and the shade Bitch Perfect is a gorgeous peachy beige nude.
The NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils are some of the most hyped lip products out there, and it’s definitely for reason. First of all, I love the minimalist black and white packaging, and the ease that comes with applying the pen shaped lippies. Secondly, these lipsticks are insanely long lasting and will literally stay on your lips from morning till night. When it comes to shades I’d definitely opt for a classic red, the orange toned Red Square is my favourite.
The Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté lippies were another one that I dreamed about for ages before finally treating myself to one after finishing my Bachelor. The gold packaging with the YSL logo is simply swoon worthy and the lipstick just glides on to your lips. Not to mention that they have the sweetest watermelon scent and even taste good too (not that you’d want to eat your lipstick). I have the shade Pink In Paris, a bright pink that lights up my face. And I’ve already picked the next shade I’m going to get…
If I could only name one lipstick that’s worth the splurge, it would definitely be this one. My one and only Chanel is probably the most expensive lippie I’ve ever bought. But it’s worth every penny even just for the packaging. The black and gold case with the classic Chanel logo makes me swoon every time I whip this boy out. When you add to that the gloriously creamy formula and one of the best nude shades I’ve ever seen, you have every lipstick lover’s dream.
