It’s no secret that the French pharmacy brands do skincare really well. And as someone who’s pretty enthusiastic about French beauty products, I was surprised to find a brand I’d never heard of before. Lierac is a quintessentially French beauty brand with skincare that’s not only effective, but also feels absolutely beautiful to use. I’ve been giving their new Lierac Hydragenist Extreme Nourishing Rescue Balm* a go for the past couple of months, and today I’m sharing my thoughts.
LIERAC HYDRAGENIST SOS BALM
The Hydragenist SOS Balm was launched this autumn, and it’s specifically designed for dry and damaged skin. (Or in other words, for Scandinavian winter). It’s packed full of rosehip oil and a special Hydra O2 compound, that’s meant to boost the hydration levels of your skin. Shea butter gives the balm a cold cream effect that immediately smooths and repairs your skin, while also protecting it from the freezing temperatures.
Winter can definitely be a tough time for my skin. Pretty much every year around this time my skin starts to get as dry as the desert, and actually flakes off around my nose. I’ve been on the hunt for that perfect winter moisturizer for a couple of years now, but I think I might finally be able to say I’ve found the one.
Not only is this balm incredibly hydrating, but I absolutely love the feeling of applying it. It has the thickest, most luxurious consistency that just melts in to the skin, leaving it feeling soft and hydrated. I mostly use it in the evenings. But thanks to an almost a matte finish it works beautifully under makeup as well. And if you feel like giving your skin an extra special treat, it can also be used as a mask. Everything about this little pot from the blush pink packaging to the lovely floral scent, had me at bonjour.
Have you tried anything by Lierac?
