It’s almost time for Valentine’s day… Usually I’ve done a full love week of Valentine’s themed posts on the blog, but this year I’m toning down on the hearts and sparkles a bit. That said, I still wanted to give a subtle nod to one of my favourite romantic holidays. And what’s more romantic than rose? A few years back I was completely against rose-infused beauty, but over the past year or so, I’ve gone completely rose obsessed. Here are four of my current rosy beauty favourites.
ROSE-INFUSED BEAUTY FOR VALENTINE’S DAY
Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel
I know it’s a bit mean to be sharing a limited edition product but, since this is one of my current rose-infused beauty loves, I just had to mention it. Rose Jam pops into Lush every year around Christmas, and some people hoard it by the boatload. Last year I finally snatched up a bottle for myself, and I dare say I’ll be heading back for more this year. Rose Jam is pretty much exactly what it says on the bottle. A decadent rosy scented shower gel with a pink jam-like texture, that leaves your skin soft and hydrated with a glorious scent. I’ve also bought the matching bubble bar to pop into my bath in Paris.
Chloé’s Roses became my go-to scent last summer, and I’m already looking forward to springier days so I can dig it out of my beauty stash again. First of all, the bottle is absolutely beautiful and would make for a lovely Valentine’s day present. I love the classic rose scent, that’s made more fresh and modern by the bergamot top note and the sweet musky Amber base note. It’s the perfect sophisticated scent for anyone like me, who’s a bit rose obsessed.
Finding a good lip polish can be tricky. Since I find that most of them just end up gathering dust on your beauty shelves. But this one is so lovely to use, since it doesn’t only scrub your lips, but leaves them feeling nourished as well. It’s made with organic sugar and shea butter. So you don’t have to worry about putting any nasty ingredients near your mouth. The scent is a bit more peppermint than rose, but it smells delicious nonetheless.
And finally, one of my favourite rose-infused beauty bits of all time, the hydrating face mist. We all know that rose water is brilliant at adding hydration to the skin, and this mist is also packed full of glow-giving coconut water. It has the loveliest fresh floral scent, and it leaves my skin feeling soothed and rehydrated. I love spritzing this on my face after applying makeup or as a little midday pick me up, to give my skin it’s natural glow back.
