5 Staple Beauty Bits

5 Staple Beauty Bits | Shakespeare & Sparkle

As someone who’s constantly trying out new beauty bits, it’s not often that something will find it’s way to my daily rotation. I rarely fall so deeply in love with a product that it becomes something I couldn’t live without. There’s just too many lovely new things to try to stick with the same ones. That said, I do have a few holy grail products that I’ve bought over and over again. And today I thought I’d share some of these staple beauty bits with you.

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel5 Staple Beauty Bits | Shakespeare & Sparkle

This cleanser truly is a holy grail for me. I love absolutely everything about it, from the rosy melting gel texture to the subtle rose chamomile scent. It not only melts away makeup, but also thoroughly cleanses my skin. When massaged onto the skin, the gel turns into a light oil that leaves my skin looking soft, radiant and glowy.

Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede Cologne

I’ve often said that if I was only allowed to have one perfume, it would be this one. I go through phases with perfume, where sometimes I’ll be more drawn to sweeter scents and sometimes I can’t get enough of spice. But there’s something so subtle and beautiful about this scent that I don’t think I could ever get sick of it. It’s a fresh floral scent mixed with the soft and powdery blush suede. And it also layers beautifully with other perfumes.

NYX Micro Brow Pencil | Taupe

I tried the much hyped Anastasia Brow Wiz last summer, and even though I loved it, I just couldn’t bear the thought of dishing out more than 20 euros on a brow product on a regular basis. Especially since the thin pencils seem to run out in just a couple of months. So I was quite overjoyed when I found an exact dupe from NYX with only half the price. This little brow pencil has a really fine nib, making it easy to get precise but still natural looking brows. I also love that it’s a twist-up, since I can never be bothered with sharpeners. It’s become such a staple beauty bit for me, that I usually have at least two in my stash in case it runs out.

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner

I took about a year long break from my signature cat eye, because I was trying to find a good dupe for this eye liner. But nothing ever came even close. So I basically stopped using eye liner, until finally giving in last month and bringing back my beloved Stila liner. It’s so intensely black and just wet enough that it never drags. And I never have to worry about it smudging or fading.

Essie | Spin the Bottle

I’m a bit of an Essie addict and have quite a few different shades in my collection. But the one shade I have consistently loved ever since getting it is Spin the Bottle. Nude nail polish is a difficult thing to get right, since depending on your skin tone some shades can really wash you out or make your skin look too pink or ashy. Spin the Bottle is a semi-sheer nude with just the right amount of pink in it.

Nude nail polishes are one of my staples too. A pretty red shade is also super useful in any collection, as it’s a classic colour that will never go out of style. I’d add a good concealer to the list – it’s easy to go without foundation and a full face of makeup, but one should always have a concealer at hand for those days when you need to hide a couple red spots!
