5 Things to Get for Your Spring Wardrobe

A couple of weeks ago I told you that I was getting started with the French approach to capsule wardrobes, the 5 Piece French Wardrobe. I also introduced you to my wardrobe basics. And since we’re now officially into spring, it’s time to look at the five trendy items I’ll be adding to my 5 piece French wardrobe this season. My style is usually quite classic, so I don’t tend to go too crazy with the trends. So here’s my subtle take on some of this spring’s biggest trends, along with the five things you need for your spring wardrobe.

5 THINGS TO GET FOR YOUR SPRING WARDROBE

5 Things to Get for Your Spring Wardrobe | Shakespeare & Sparkle
Blouse / Jeans / Trench / Shoes / Bag
1. Something Ruffled

Ruffles are a huge trend this spring, and it seems like every blouse I’ve come across features ruffles in one way or another. I find ruffled pieces a bit tricky to wear, since they can sometimes make you look too bulky around the shoulders. But this little blouse ticks all the boxes of the perfect spring shirt, since it’s striped, ruffled & pastel blue.

2. Something Embroidered

Embroidered pieces always seem to start popping up around spring/summer, and this year is no exception. While I do love the look of a bohemian embroidered blouse or off the shoulder dress, this spring these jeans just took my heart. They’re a comfy girlfriend fit made of the softest cotton, and I just adore the little embroidered rose.

3. Something Pink

Pink in undoubtedly the biggest trend colour this spring. And as an avid pink lover, I couldn’t be happier about it. I’ve had my eye on pretty much all the pink things this spring, from shoes to sweaters and skirts. But the one thing I’m dying to get into my wardrobe is a sweet blush coat. I’m currently debating between a bomber or a light flowy trench like this one.

4. Block Heels

Including these heels in my spring wardrobe might be a bit too optimistic, since I know it’s going to be a few months before I get to take these babies out for a stroll. But they were just too pretty to leave at the store. Plus, they’re the loveliest combination of two of my favourite spring trends; low block heels & pink.

5. Mini Bag

Small crossbody bags are a trend piece this spring, and it’s also something I really needed in my wardrobe. During the colder months I relied on my bulkier black bag, but when warm weather rolls around I find myself craving something lighter. (Both in terms of colour & size). Enter this little beige bag, that’s the perfect size to fit my essentials, and has a boxy shape that reminds me of the YSL camera bag that I’m lusting after…

What’s the one thing you’re getting for your spring wardrobe?

These items are all gorgeous! I’d totally add all of them in my wardrobe haha. Pink is also one of my favourite basics for a spring wardrobe, and I’d love to find a perfect, flowy but still tailored blush pink trench!
Mini bags are cute but I find that you often struggle to get everything you need in it – I can’t go anywhere without a small bottle of water, so tiny bags are unfortunately not for me! They’re really pretty though, I also loved the YSL camera bag.

Thanks Julia! I’m still on the hunt for that perfect flowy pink trench too, since this one unfortunately didn’t look right on me.. boo. That’s true, but I’ve actually found that it helps me to narrow down the stuff that I keep with me, since with a big bag I tend to lug around just about everything but the kitchen sink.. xx

Those shoes are SO beautiful! I need something exactly like that for my Spring/Summer wardrobe – all of my other shoes will definitely be too hot to wear once the sun starts to properly come out! I think I might need a bit of a shopping spree! 😀
