I don’t know if it’s the nearing spring weather, or just the fact that I’m getting older (yikes), but I find myself wearing less and less makeup as the months go by. Where I used to be the kind of girl who couldn’t even go to the nearby supermarket without a full face of makeup, I can nowadays go days without even a slick of mascara. That said, most days I still like to wear a bit of makeup just to make myself feel put-together. For me minimal makeup is all about fast and easy products that you can just smudge on with your fingers, no brushes needed.
EASY MINIMAL MAKEUP
Foundation really doesn’t get much easier than a cushion, since it’s not only super fast to apply but also comes with its own applicator. My current go-to is the Teint Idole Ultra, since it offers a nice amount of coverage, while still leaving a natural glowy finish.
For a minimal makeup I’ll often skip concealer, and just do a bit of color correcting for dark circles. This yellow fluid is perfect for brightening up the skin and battling any purple tones under the eyes. It’s also lightweight enough to blend into the skin without looking unnatural.
I love this blush stick for minimal makeup days, since it does both the job of a blush and a highlighter in one. It has a soft creamy consistency that’s easy to swipe on and blend with fingers. And the rose gold peach color gives your cheeks a gorgeous natural glow.
L’Oréal Brow Artist Xpert | Cool Blonde
This is a new brow bit I picked up recently, and although it hasn’t replaced my trusty NYX Micro Brow, I have been loving it for easy makeup days. The triangular shape of the pencil makes applying it really fast. The finish is more powdery than waxy, which I find makes my brows look more natural rather than done up.
H&M Color Essence Eye Cream | Champers
While I prefer powder eye shadows most days, for easy makeup I do tend to reach for my creams. This H&M option is not only cheap as chips, but also a total one sweep wonder. The shade is a natural beige champagne, and the consistency a velvety soft mousse that barely even needs blending.
L’Oréal Volume Million Lashes Feline Black
It’s been quite a while since I discovered a new mascara favourite, but this one I’m obsessed with. It has a curved wand that gives my lashes gorgeous volume, while also keeping them separated and clump-free.
Lancome Parisian Lips Le Stylo | Rendez-Vous á Paris
Since my lips tend to look rather blue-toned naturally, skipping lipstick can make me look a bit dead. While the other end of this lip stylo has a bright matte pigment, the other end is actually perfect for minimal makeup days. It’s a sheer lipstick that adds just a bit of creaminess and a slight wash of peachy pink colour to my lips.
Are you a minimal makeup or full face glam kind of girl?
