I’m definitely a BB cream kind of girl. Heavy foundations that clog up my pores and make it look like I’m wearing a mask of makeup have just never been my thing. I’ll take a light base that lets the freckles show through any day. (Not that I have any freckles, but oh, how I wish I did). I’ve tried my fair share of BB creams from Garnier to bareMinerals. And while I loved all of them for a time, none of them just quite seemed to be The One. That is, until Diorskin Nude BB Creme.
So in the spirit of a good showdown, I thought I’d give you quick reviews on all my BB cream loves, and tell you why Diorskin Nude ticks all the boxes for me.
DIORSKIN NUDE BB CREME
I had obviously heard the praises for the Diorskin Nude BB Creme before. But it wasn’t until reading this research declaring it the best BB cream out there, that I knew I just had to give it a try.
Firstly, being Dior the packaging is obviously dreamy. All nude with silvery details. The creme inside has a lightweight texture that just melts into the skin, leaving a finish I can only describe as ‘natural glow’. Unlike most BB creams, the coverage isn’t nonexistent, and this one has a bit more pigment to it. It corrects everything I need it to, while still looking fresh and letting my skin peer through. It also doesn’t disappear at the first sight of my natural oils, but rather stays put and looking gorgeous all day long. The creme has a slight perfume to it, but to me that’s just one of the things I love about French beauty bits.
Diorskin Nude is like having all the best sides of a sheer base, with the added skincare benefits of a BB. It’s buildable, blendable and leaves your skin looking as fresh and radiant as a rose.
MY OTHER BB LOVES
This was the first BB cream I ever tried. Like the bottle suggests it’s actually closer to a tinted moisturizer than a BB cream, in that it offers plenty of hydration but a very light coverage. Applied with fingers it almost seems to disappear into the skin. But apply it with a beauty blender and you’ll be left with a light dewy finish. Great if you have good skin that just needs a bit of help, but won’t work for oily complexions.
This one was my one and only for a long time, and I still keep a tube of it stashed in my beauty drawer. It has the weirdest whipped gel cream consistency, that applies like a dream. The coverage is natural and sheer, but somehow just enough. Basically, it’s a good skin day in a bottle. However, despite the moisturizer claims I find that this can sometimes make my skin a tad dry.
The formulation of this one resembles a foundation, but the coverage is more like a really sheer tinted moisturizer. It also feels completely weightless on the skin. On the downside, the shade selection leaves much to be desired and none of the shades really suit my skin.
