Bonjour! Work (and life) continues to be busy. So I just can’t seem to find the time for blogging that I would want. But I still wanted to pop by quickly to share what I’ve been up to along with a few snaps from our trip to Paris last week.
We headed to Paris for a weekend to celebrate the anniversary of our engagement, which happened almost exactly one year ago in Paris. This time I hadn’t really made any plans. So we spent most of our time visiting the same spots from last year. It was lovely to be back in the familiar neighbourhood, and to get to relive the happy daze of that amazing trip a year ago. A part of me dreams that we’ll turn this into a tradition. That maybe when we’re seventy and we’ve been married for thirty years we’ll still stay at the same hotel every year and eat at that same Italian restaurant Del Papa in the corner. But now onto this trip!
Bonjour de Paris!
The day started with this amazing hotel breakfast. There’s just nothing better than munching on croissants and pain au chocolat in crisp white hotel sheets.
I was a bit worried about the weather, since I had been hoping to get a little escape from the Finnish winter and it snowed in Paris the previous week. But luckily Paris was at its best and the weather was warm and sunny all weekend.
I got slightly obsessed with flower shops on this trip, and took photos of at least one florist every day.
We stayed in the 16th arrondissement at Hotel Residence Foch, that has quickly become my favourite hotel. The location is brilliant. Champs-Élysées and Arc de Triomphe are within walking distance, and you can even walk to the Eiffel Tower. In addition to the classic French decor the rooms have tiny Parisian balconies and bathtubs, where I might have used a Lush bath bomb or two…
Macarons are a must. ❤ My favourite flavours are pistachio and the classic vanilla. This time we decided to skip the queues at Ladurée and opted for a little box from Angelina instead.
I just can’t help it, even after four trips this view still makes me squeal with happiness every time.
